With 90,000 inhabitants, the city of Viseu is the third largest and most populous city in the Central Region of Portugal.
Divided into 25 villages, the municipality of Viseu aggregates, not only the Municipality, but also the Water and Sanitation Municipal Services and the Municipal Police, Firefighters and Schools.
The Municipality of Viseu wanted a IP Unified Communications solution, that would allow to modernize and centralize all their voice communications. According to these requirements, we presented the Voicis Enterprise solution, which enabled the Municipality of Viseu to:
• Center the voice platform and it's management, unifying the communications
• Reduce costs with communications between the various sites (Municipality of Viseu, Municipal firefighters, Municipal Water and Sanitation Services, Municipal police)
• Interconnect several geographical sites
• Phased migration from legacy to Voicis Enterprise solution
• Ability to scale to add the local schools and other municipal undertakings
The architecture of this solution is distributed, with a centralized management platform, divided by the various sites (accounts). In each site there is a Mediagateway, with interconnection to the PSTN, that forwards the IP numbering to their respective account in Voicis Enterprise where the treatment and management of calls is made. The implementation of this project was a success, because Voicis Enterprise respond to the assumptions made by the customer.
The Orange in Dominican Republic, like ONI, needed a scalable and redundant IPCentrex solution that offered all the features and capabilities of the currently licensed solutions on the market, but with reduced implementation costs. It was in Voicis Core solution, from ITCenter, that they found what they were looking for.
With reduced implementation costs and deployment as business growth, Orange found a easily adaptable solution to the growth of users which can also have a large number of custom features according to their needs.

The solution presented by ITCenter – Voicis Core - C5 Business allowed Orange to install a redudant and scalable IPCentrex solution, easily customizable, with a clean and intuitive management platform and payment by extension as the extensions are created/implemented. All this with reduced installation costs.
The project, implemented between 2008 e 2010, intended to reduce the cost in communications of the Portuguese Public Higher Education.
The data network that connects the public higher education had high performance but was not being used for
telephony. Furthermore, it was necessary to reuse the existing equipment.
With Enterprise Courier (first version of Voicis Enterprise), ITCenter managed to implement a VoIP solution that intercepts calls between the PBX and the public network operator, automatically forwarding calls through a data network, seamlessly, at zero cost and with no impact to the end user.
Exclusively using open source technologies and standard protocols, ITCenter managed to implement a communications network at large size, which supports about 43 institutions, with 90.000 users and processes 7 million calls monthly.
The project ensured the ITCenter internationally recognition with the Digium Innovation Award 2010.
The main challenge was the implementation of a central telecommunications solution of IP phones, to ensure the functioning of the organization's structure.
The choice fell on the Enterprise Courier (first version of Voicis Enterprise) – a high availability system for voice, video and chat, allowing the NSA to improve the effectiveness of their communications, both internally and externally.
The INE Angola has now an integrated communications platform, feature-rich and fully customizable based on open source technologies and offers all the features of more expensive tradicional PBXs in the market, at a fraction of the price.
